Ingredients in the Sweet Potato Biscuits

  • All Purpose or Wheat Flour. You can also use Gluten Free Flour (like I did in the pictures) if you need this recipe to be gluten-free.
  • Baking Powder. This will help our biscuits rise properly.
  • Salt. If you use salted butter you can leave this out, otherwise don’t forget to add it.
  • Butter. Use shortening or another butter alternative to make this dairy-free.
  • Vegetable Oil. Olive oil, sunflower oil, or any other mild vegetable oil will work in this recipe.
  • Sweet Potatoes. These can be canned sweet potatoes or sweet potatoes that you cook and mash fresh.
  • Milk. You can use a milk alternative if you need these to be dairy-free.

Drop by muffin scoop into a greased 9×13 baking dish. The biscuits can be somewhat close together if you want them to be softer but move them further apart for a crispy biscuit. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until slightly brown on the tops (gluten-free biscuits will take a bit longer).

For a dairy-free version: Use Coconut Butter or Coconut Cream Concentrate (Where to Buy) instead of the butter and Rice, Coconut, Almond, or any other non-dairy milk in place of the milk.
